Saraswati Puja (Vasant Panchmi) on 28th January, 2012 at Baripada
Baripada, a small non-descript hamlet in district Mayurbhanj in Odisha. A most backward area with scanty population, it’s bereft of any kind of development be it economic or social. Mostly inhabited by people belonging to scheduled castes and tribes, the entire area needs serious attention.
Aarohan took the initiative to promote the facility of education for the benefit of the local children. At present, there are 100 children enrolled with us. But it hasn’t been an easy beginning because of starvation and lack of resources. The children’s families’ main occupation is making bamboo baskets. The problems are aplenty, but we are sure that with the support of like-minded people and organisations, we can definitely turn the tide in the favour of the beleaguered children of Baripada with the help of education. We can help them to fulfill their dreams which they have always aspired.
